September 1898 in Berlin <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-very-dark-gray-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Leben<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-very-dark-gray-color has-text-color\">Theodor Fontane wurde am 30. Dezember 1819 in Neuruppin geboren. Im  Alter von acht Jahren \u00fcbersiedelte die Familie nach Swinem\u00fcnde. 1836  begann Fontane eine Apothekerlehre, die er 1840 erfolgreich beendete.  Danach arbeitete er als Apothekergehilfe in Leipzig und Dresden. 1844  schloss er sich einer Schriftstellervereinigung, dem &#8222;Tunnel \u00fcber der  Spree&#8220;, an. Ab 1850 wandte er sich verst\u00e4rkt dem Schreiben zu. Er war  Journalist, Redakteur und verfasste viele Theaterkritiken. 1855 bis 1859  hielt er sich in England auf. Als der Deutsch-Franz\u00f6sische Krieg ausbricht, war er als Kriegsberichterstatter t\u00e4tig. Ab 1860 war er etwa 10 Jahre als Redakteur der Berliner <em>Kreuz-Zeitung<\/em> t\u00e4tig. 1876 war er Sekret\u00e4r an der Berliner Akademie der K\u00fcnste, doch k\u00fcndigte er dort bereits nach 3 Monaten. Bis 1889 verfasste er Theaterkritiken in der <em>Vossischen Zeitung<\/em>. Fontane starb am 20.
